Again, since blogger does not host pdf files, I had to resort to this.
I have completed my final project - a fantasy spread in ID magazine. Having customized the bleed and the slug, I went on to work on  my editorial. When looking at the magazine itself I realized that from issue to issue, the formatting is quite different, so I did whatever I found suitable for the photoshoot.
I also created an ad for a company that could advertise in ID - Illesteva sunglasses - by making a logo that looked as close to the original one as possible  with the text tool and then I just altered some of the letters.

Final project

This was the beginning of my final project - the cover. At first, I wanted to make this a spread in Lula magazine, but I couldn't work out the logo, and after several attempts I decided that I-D magazine would be a good thing to do.
Further I plan on creating a spread with an article and an advert.
I think I've learned a good share of helpful skills in inDesign and am quite happy with the work that I've produced this term.

week 4

Looks like a younger Ellen DeGeneres? Or maybe like a blonde Winona Ryder? Well no, this, my friends, is Ryan Gosling, whom I tragically emasculated in photoshop. I used the clone stamp tool, liquify filter, gaussian blur filter and paint brush tool.

Week two and three

Since blogger does not do file hosting, I had to resort to this.

Anyways, In week two we created a magazine cover after having learned about the bleed (the residue space that will then shrink to the image's actual size) and the slug, which is basically where the editors can put their remarks and they will not be printed.

We created the cover by file -> place-ing the image onto the page. We also used the direct selection tool (white arrow) to select the image inside the frame. Instead of actually writing up a text we used a "placeholder text" that just lets us see how the layout will look together with the text, which probably hasn't been written at the time of the creation of said layout. Type -> placeholder text.

The following week we made a slightly more elaborate article layout than we did the first week. We also used the line tool to make it more visually appealing and learnt how to create a colorful fill and stroke for different elements of our work.

First InDesign lesson

In our first indesign lesson we created a simple article layout.Using the rectangle tool I created and selected several boxes to determine where the text and pictures would be. I created a header (title), sandfirst (under the title), body text and placed two pictures in there. I also created a "Pull quote" which is basically a highlited sentence in the text body and also regulated the picture size by fitting content to frame.
